The Walk to Obon (2020)


Based on my Japanese-American childhood, the film anticipates the fleeting moments leading up to the local Obon-- a Buddhist summer festival complete with food, dance, and performance. Impatient kids, board game dice, and fruit stickers flash by to play like a memory.
